Today it is below freezing and snowing for the first time all year. Old Dog is angry at the inconvenience; Puppy has lost his tiny doggy mind in delight. Brown spent the better part of an hour pelting Puppy with snowballs until he got bored and dragged Puppy back in the house. Puppy then spent the rest of the evening in a Furious Snit by the window because all of the fun is <i>out there!</i> <br/><br/>I hate winter and am having none of this nonsense. The only reason we like snow is because it's pretty, people. If it were blood red or poop-colored, there would be chemicals sprayed into clouds to eradicate that horrible freezing stuff before it touches the ground and shuts down life in North Carolina as we know it. <br/><br/>See you tomorrow for a revised strip. Messed up that last panel bunches and lots and bunches but this finally works. One very strange problem I've been running into lately is because of Clarice's character design. It's really difficult to draw a fight scene with a character purposefully drawn to be all HELLO NURSE! without showing that extra bounce. As a lady with the corresponding ladyparts, I'm one of those who is firmly of the opinion that a solid asswhuppin' (well-deserved or not) and sexuality should not coexist in the same drawing. Sexually exploitative violence is chocolate with nails embedded in it; no matter how much you love chocolate, it's too hard to swallow and that aftertaste ain't pennies.<br/><br/><a href="http://www.jimchines.com/2012/01/striking-a-pose/">Been meaning to link to this post for a while, by the way.</a> Jim Hines, a male fantasy author, did a fabulous tongue-in-cheek take on cover art featuring female characters. Read it just to appreciate his belly jeans and insulin pump, if nothing else.<br/><br/>But! Tomorrow! We remove the violence and have our annual Gratuitous Cheesecake Day! It's Valentine's Day, and as per our standing agreement we will celebrate by putting pictures of scantily-clad comic characters on the Internet.<br/><br/>Wait what do you mean people already do this I have no idea what...<br/><br/>Finally, over the weekend was a convention which I usually go to because it's within spitting distance from my house, but they seemed poorly organized this year. I was not going to recommend to anyone that they drive whatever distance to visit a convention that couldn't get it's schedule up until the day before.
