Sea Otter Snowflake

This is technically fan art but it showed up at the best time possible, so I used it as filler. I was scheduled for "minor outpatient surgery," which I assumed meant that it was an in-and-out procedure like the one I had had the week before. Two hours into the surgery, I'm spread out face-down on an operating table, fully conscious and a tad grumpy over their choice of words. I drove home before the local anesthetic wore off and the pain kicked in, and I launched straight into a rather zen-like state of pissiness because I couldn't sit up to type, let alone draw. I was glad I made the effort to check the mailbox as a reader had sent me an early holiday present, which freaking
rocked in addition to its scary-perfect timing.
If you want to make it yourself, the directions are as follows:
(1) Fold paper is half along a crisply dotted line;
(2) On side with diagonal dotted line, fold edge in to the dotted line, leaving it just visible;
(3) Fold other edge in, line up all edges carefully;
(4) Fold triangle in half to leave only the design visible on one face [see image below for the single sea otter template];
- Use nail scissors for the fiddy bits & hole punch for the eyes and nose.
